Blog Directories

It's been a couple of days since I last posted, but there is a good reason for that. Of course I've been busy with life, but I've also been busy with trying to figure out how to generate traffic to my blog. Last time I posted an article by Jonathan Leger that gave great tips for Adsense users. Well in the article he speaks of generating traffic for your blog. He specifically said "submit your blog to blog directories". So that's what I've been doing. I found this fantastic list of blog directories and I've just been going through each one and submitting my blog. Some ask for the blog site and others ask for your RSS feed url. For Blogger users simply add /atom.xml fo your Rss feed. The important thing is follow whatever instructions they provide to make sure you have the best chance of getting in these directories. At the bottom of this page I have included all the directories I've submitted to thus far. Just click on any icon and get to work. It is time consuming, but bare with it. I'll post more as time goes on and soon we should start seeing traffic rolling in.

Adsense Help

I've been searching and searching for help with my Adsense campaign. Quite often I find that this is not a "get rich quick scheme". However, could it be a get rich-over-time-scheme. That would suit me just fine. This guy, that goes by Shoemoney, made over $100,000 in one month. That may not be 'rich', but that's not too shabby. So that gets me excited and I started thinking more seriously about using Adsense. But I'm such a novice at the whole online marketing thing. So in my search I came across another great article on starting a blog and using Adsense to make money. As you can see right now I'm just collecting information. The idea is to make myself an expert on this, like Jonathan Leger, the man who wrote the article. From what I can tell, using Blogger is the only way to utilize Adsense for free. Which is great because setting up a blog on Blogger is a snap. Just go to Blogger.com and follow the setup instructions. Then click the Adsense button and follow the setup instructions there. It's really that easy. Now I've got to figure out how to generate traffic.

Job Offers

I just got a message from a former fellow employee. He tells me a company we worked with wants to hire me, a job offer. In my last post, "Job Search", I spoke of how Robert Kiyosaki posed the question "Is another job what I really need?" Well I still wonder, but I will give them a call and see what they have in mind. I do need to generate capital in order to pursue other endevors. That being said I found a terrific little post on getting your posts noticed in Google search. It mentions keeping posts short, using links, being creative with hypertexts, it even has a link for making sure your site is indexed. Check it out and tell me what you think. I'm really interested in making this Adsense thing work.
